At
the age of twenty, while studying in Florence,
Italy, Carla learned the technique of venetian
mask making and Commedia dell’ Arte. She studied
with world famous Master Mask Maker, Professor Agostino Dessi, using the ancient techniques of
the 16th and 17th century. Having created her
own techniques through the years, based on these
ancient teachings, she developed her own style
in sculptures and fine arts. She is a true
innovator yet remains true to her art basics.
Her visions start in her imagination, allowing
her sculptures to magically come alive through
her hands, to create a timeless art piece.
When she returned from Europe, she developed her
own style inspired and drawing heavily from
nature. Using ECO FRIENDLY materials to create
her artwork, collectors are amazed and pleased
to know, that their purchases of her art also
help the planet. Carla’s unique approach for her
sculptures by utilizing natural materials like:
woods, leaves, roots, flowers, seashells,
corals, silver and gold leaf materials, to name
a few, help her creations come alive. She
sculpts in both plaster and paper mache. Clients
have also commissioned her to create special
themes they wish to have. Her passion, vision,
and non-compromising attention to detail are
evident in all her one-of-a-kind creations. She
uses live models to create a variety of poses
and capture the shape and forms of human torsos,
busts, faces, legs, hands, etc. She also makes belly castings
(pregnancies), that can capture very important moments
in time. Then she applies varieties of finishes to
suit your taste.
“If you can imagine it, we can create it; your
vision is our creation.”
Bringing the world together through art.
